Brewery At Teddy-Bears – U Fleku – U Valsu’s Prague Bridge – and some city landmarks at the end

Our last guideway will turn to a traditional pedestrian exercise. We will start at the art noveau Municipal House (with the most famous café), going along Long Street (whose former numerous breweries turned now to restaurants and bars) up to Old Town Square – the historical centre of Prague and the social hub of the city. 41
Then we will continue through the historical lanes along former most famous breweries: U Halanku, U Vejvodu, U Sladkych, U Zavorku, U Tri Kouli, etc. 42
We will stop by at the renewed former malt-house and converted to a mini-brewery “At Teddy-Bears” where local brewer Mr. Ladislav Vesely will serve as our guide. Your lunch will be served with local beers. You could pick also most probably the strongest beer in the world called X-beer 33. It means it has 33 degrees of malt thickness and contains 12% of alcohol. 43
During our next walk we will pas by the commemorative plaque of the famous brewer F. O. Poupe (inventor of new technologies of brewing in the post-Napoleonic days) and the ladnmarks of former breweries in its surroundings. 44
Our walk will follow through the historical Prague up to the most famous Czech brewery “U Fleku” whose continuous history of brewing dates since 1499. The brewery and the attached ale-houses serve at the same time as a practicing museum of beer. You could go around and admire this monument of the Czech culture. 46
On our stroll back to the Old Town we will pass around many former breweries located close to the Bethlehem Square … 47
… where there is also located a new mini-brewery “U Valsu – Prague Bridge”. As in other places, you will be guided there by local brewer, introducing his specialities. 48
At the end of the day we will cross the Moldau River via Charles Bridge. The royal Lesser Town was also spangled by breweries … 49
… (Saint Thomas, Glaubic, Schnell, Cross of Malta, etc.) that were converted later to ale-houses. Your evening will be spent by dining in one of them. 50
