Brewing the beer

21-11-2013: The brewery Jelínkova vila in Velkém Meziříčí was the scene of a very unusual duel. As a part of the evening program for the two day meeting Czech Brewers and Maltsters Association we played beer roulette with true beer professionals and we were already worried about our beer bank. Our bank didn’t go broke, though the players at both tables were excellent – all of them experts in the field (brewers, owners, directors of breweries, people from ICT, etc.). Among the players was, for example, the chairman of the Association, František Šámal. But only the six best could go to the final round. And even though the important thing here wasn’t to win, but to participate (and, whe should add, have fun), it would be unfair if we failed to mention the winner of this prestigious tournament, Jaromír Fiala, consultant at CBMA from the Institute of Chemical Technology. You can see photos of the event here.

8.11.2012 – Was a unique and special day for Hotel Akademie Naháč, in Chocerady, not far fromPrague. The full day training event organised by the company Geberit was complemented by a program that included beer in all its shapes and colours, culminated with the brewing of an amber lager! The beer will lager in the cellars of Pivovarský dům until right before Christmas. Besides seeing how beer is made, the attendants could taste excellent beers on tap from small breweries and receive extensive information not only about them. Among the kegs that were tapped that day, it was Matuška’s wheat beer the one that was drunk the fastest. It’s also worth mentioning that, besides all the fun around beer, attendants could also take part in competitions in plumbing skills. You can see some of the moments of the event here:

On 5-6 October 2011 Can21, Ltd. – the authorised system partner of Canon – held the Open Door Days. Except that there was an exhibition of new products of Canon, its business partners and potential clients had a chance of getting acquainted with the beer brewing. The event took place in the very area of the firm for both days. The demonstration concerned the beers with top cropping and warm fermenting. On the first day it was the weizen beer and on the second day the ale. It will take another month until the samples will be filled into patent bottles and tagged with special labels, printed exclusively in memory of this opportunity. During the Open Door event the visitors could sample special beers from all over the world in the beer bar. The photo gallery of this festivity can be seen HERE.
